The Company I Keep

Life is heavy, but it is heavier when I try to carry it alone. Friends don’t remove the weight, but they share it. They remind me I don’t have to be alone all the time. They make the road less lonely.

The people around me shape me. Their words, their habits, their energy—it all bleeds into who I am becoming. If I surround myself with cynicism, I will shrink. If I surround myself with courage, I will rise.

Friendship is not a luxury. It is fuel. It is accountability. It is a mirror that shows me both my flaws and my potential.

So I choose carefully. I choose people who pull me forward, who make me laugh when life feels serious, who remind me of the bigger picture when I get lost in the small battles.
