On Gratitude

It is easy to focus on what I lack, but what I already have is more than many could dream of. Breath in my lungs. A roof overhead. People I love. A chance to try again today.

Gratitude doesn’t make problems disappear—it makes them lighter. It changes the weight I carry into something I can manage.

If I can be grateful for the small, I will never be poor.

“Do not indulge in dreams of having what you have not, but reckon up the chief of the blessings you do possess, and then thankfully remember how you would crave for them if they were not yours.” – Marcus Aurelius
