Mentors Don't Have to Be Alive
Mentors Don’t Have to Be Alive
I don’t need to know someone personally for them to mentor me.
The best mentors are sometimes dead. Philosophers. Writers. Leaders.
They leave behind their words, their struggles, their wisdom.
I can sit down with Marcus Aurelius every night if I want. Or Seneca. Or Epictetus.
They’ll tell me how they faced hardship, failure, pain, and still stood tall.
A mentor doesn’t always have to look me in the eye.
Sometimes, the lessons they left on paper are enough to guide me.
“Choose someone whose way of life and words… you may keep before your eyes, so that you may live as if they were watching.” — Seneca
